In this course, we'll examine conflicts and compromises from across the 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@stern Hemisphere to understand the messy process of conquest. 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@'ll look at how different Indigenous and European societies comprehended and pursued conquest and how they experienced its immediate effects. Along the way, we'll pay attention to the lives of "regular" people swept up in conquest and especially to the roles of intermediaries-the translators, officials, and missionaries who brokered truces and rendered enemies legible. |
